Axel has more than 18 years of experience in advising clients on buy-side and sell-side transactions, auditing single and consolidated financial statements in accordance with German GAAP, IFRS and US-GAAP as well as various consulting projects regarding the analysis, preparation and processing of financial information.

He primarily advised family-owned businesses of the German “Mittelstand”, financial investors operating in the DACH region as well as multinational corporations.

In M&A transactions Axel supports potential buyers in both share and asset deals in a large variety of different industries. Mostly, targets are mid-size companies or businesses to be carved-out of multinational companies. Services provided by Axel cover all phases of a transaction process including initial and indicative valuations, financial due diligence, SPA advice and post-acquisition support.

In sell-side transactions Axel is mainly responsible for the preparation of financial fact books (vendor assistance). In addition, he works on national and international refinancing due diligence projects including the preparation of bankable reports.

During his more than three years of secondment to the U.S. (EY, Detroit) Axel mainly advised financial and corporate investors in cross-border transactions with a focus on the automotive industry. In addition, he consulted U.S. subsidiaries of German parent companies. Engagements included the audit of German GAAP or IFRS group reporting packages of such business units.

While Axel worked in the audit service line he performed audits of single and consolidated financial statements (German GAAP, IFRS and US-GAAP) of companies from various industries.

Axel studied business administration at the Technical University of Dortmund.
