Kim advised publicly listed companies from the DAX-30 prime segment and the M-DAX as well as medium-sized companies from the “Mittelstand”, private equity investors and their portfolio companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Kim provides buy-side due diligence assistance to potential buyers contemplating the acquisition of selected business operations or entire companies from a broad range of sectors. Target operations are to a large extent characterised by structures typical for companies from the German “Mittelstand” or family-owned businesses. Transaction services provided by Kim relate to various stages of an acquisition process and include, amongst others, advice relating to the initial and indicative valuation of a business, execution of the financial due diligence and SPA advice. Additionally, he assists the post-merger integration process, in particular the implementation of internal and external financial reporting structures and the conversion of accounting, mostly from German GAAP to IFRS.

On the sell-side, Kim assists vendors preparing complex carve-out financials and financial books reflecting such information and also executes financial vendor due diligences including respective reporting. Past projects comprised large cross-border transactions in which Kim was responsible for the overall coordination of due diligence teams worldwide.

Kim has experience in arbitration proceedings and represents clients in respective hearings.

Working in audit departments, Kim in particular performed year-end audits of single and group financial statements according to German GAAP and IFRS of companies operating in various industries and also issued respective audit opinions. Additionally, Kim supported clients in capital markets transactions.

Kim studied business administration at RWTH Aachen University and economics at University College of Swansea (Wales).
